One of eight stones painted by Ernö Goldfinger inspired by the painted granite stones from Maloja in Switzerland by Max Ernst (see NT 112758). The work is a smooth surfaced stone with a suggestion of a foot outline. There is red paint across the upper sole and black paint in the location of the heel.

This was possibly one of five stones lent to the Surrealism in England exhibition in 1986. It was entitled 'Achilles' (112749.5).
