Accompanying text reads, 'Siva is depicted in this image with a crescent moon on one side of his head and a stream of water on the other. This stream is an aquatic form of the goddess, Ganga, and the moon represents the goddess Sinivali'. Part of a collection in an album of company drawings ranging in subject matter from social scenes, trades, religious scenes and deities, gardens, sports and portraits. All drawn in watercolour, some with pencil and oxidised gold, some similar to the Kalighat style.
