A portrait of the American singer, songwriter and political activist Nina Simone. Born Eunice Kathleen Waymon on 21st February, 1933, Simone recorded more than 40 albums between 1958 and 1974. Her first hit single was 'I Loves You, Porgy', which was released in 1958.

Her musical technique was influenced by baroque and classical styles, especially that of Johann Sebastian Bach. She died on 21st April 2003.
