Battle scene. The image shows a straight, narrow road in Edinburgh, tall buildings to either side. On the far side of the street, near the foreground, is Moray House, a three-storey building of brown stone. The near corner of the building has a balcony at the first floor with three rectangular windows above. A figure in a red coat and black hat leans over the balcony, watching the fighting below. A woman's head, shoulders and right arm protrude from a third-storey window to left of the balcony.
