One of Leighton's smallest landscape oil sketches. Inscriptions on the back identify the view as the 'Pizzo dell'uccello' and 'Monte alle croce' in the Apuan Alps in Northern Tuscany. Leighton made frequent visits to Tuscany and no date for this sketch has been proposed.
