Ym 1947 cyhoeddodd The Studio ‘How to Draw Farm Animals’, llyfr clawr caled bach yn llawn astudiaethau arsylwadol Charles Tunnicliffe o’r anifeiliaid ar y fferm deuluol, ochr yn ochr â chyfarwyddiadau ar gyfer unrhyw ddarpar arlunydd. Mae'r lluniad hwn o foch yn dangos rhai o dechnegau'r artist – llinellu mân a rhwbio a’i fys i gyflawni tôn a chysgod gyda marciau inc cain i gryfhau llinellau. Mae'r rhain yn helpu i ychwanegu dyfnder a bywyd i'r astudiaeth. Ei brif gyngor, fodd bynnag, oedd astudio anifeiliaid tra eu bod yn gorffwys. Defnyddiodd Tunnicliffe yr astudiaeth hon hefyd fel sylfaen ar gyfer ysgythriad o’r enw ‘Porkletts’, a gyhoeddwyd gan H. C. Dickens, Llundain, ym 1927. In 1947, The Studio published ‘How to Draw Farm Animals’, a small hardback book full of Charles Tunnicliffe’s observational studies of the animals on the family farm, alongside instructions for any aspiring artist.
Tunnicliffe also used this study as the basis for an etching titled ‘Porkletts’, published by H. C. Dickens, London, in 1927.
