The 'Millennium Timespace Sundial' spans 40 metres across, with a 17 metre high mast. By day, cones on the mast cast a time-telling shadow while by night a light clock tells the time using LED lights in the paving of the promenade. The sundial has an inlaid mosaic clock face noting events through history. Inlaid bronze plaques mark dates and coordinates of the sun's positions at different times of year. In the centre of the clockface is a quotation by physicist Albert Einstein.
