plaque: Underneath are deposited the Remains / of Sir CHARLES TRUBSHAW WITHERS Knt / who having been distinguished in private Life / by Benevolence and Hospitality / and in public by the strenuous and active / Discharge of his Duty as a Magistrate / died Septr 24th 1804 Aged 84. / He married FRANCES RUSSEL the Last / lineal Descendant of the ancient / Possessors of the Manor, and Widow of / RICHARD NASH D.D. She died Janry 27th 1774. / Aged 74 and rests in the Vault beneath.
