A memorial to the young boxer, who died in April 1994 after collapsing hours after a contest at nearby York Hall. He died from a blood clot on the brain two days after his fight against Richie Wenton for the British super-bantamweight title. He was 23. The memorial in front of Peacock Gym is an upper body statue of the fighter in boxing pose gloves raised, it stands on a roughhewn square block plinth with inscription on a polished granite plaque to the front.
