The seat is shaded by trees and the backrest has cut-out imagery depicting four advancing soldiers, advancing through barbed wire, and poppies at the right side of the seat. There is a small plaque attached to the church boundary wall, a short distance behind the seat, with a brief inscription and an image depicting a photograph of two poppies.
