Patty Morgan the Milkmaid's Story, which is subtitled Look at the Clock is about a man named David Pryce who loves to visit his friends in the tavern. Upon arriving home, his wife berates him liberally, advising him to 'Look at the clock!' One evening, at the peak of her tirade, he kills her. Being exonerated by the Coroner's Inquest, he resolves to marry again. Patty Morgan the Milkmaid is mentioned only twice. Once in the title, and in passing late in the poem.
