Sir James Paget (1814–1899) was curator of the Pathological Museum at St Bartholomew's Hospital, 1837–1843, assistant surgeon to the hospital, 1847–1861, and surgeon, 1861–1870. He also lectured in general and morbid anatomy, surgery, and clinical surgery, and was warden of St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College when it first established its residential college, 1843–1851. He was later treasurer of the medical school, 1859–1862.
