Full body portrait ink sketch of a woman facing to the right. Her hands are by her side and she is holding her dress with her right hand. Her hair is long down her back and she has an expressionless look on her face. She is wearing a full length dress which touches the floor. Behind her to the left of the frame is a shadow or possibly the figure of a man. Heavy use of ink crosshatching to shade the background giving a low light effect. On the reverse of the piece is a small pasted image of a bird in a golden oval frame -type shape surrounding with a branch in its beak and wings upright.
