First of five similar ones, including his brother and sons. An exceptional large headstone with a simple inscription set within an elaborate cartouche decorated wat the top with the heads of two angels. The size and quality of the carving show the prosperity of Walsoken and Wisbech in the eighteenth century and of their flourishing stonemasons. This is further reflected in the listing of a number of earlier headstones.
