The sculpture, and its siting, were discussed by the Broads Authority Planning Committee on 9 September 2011, following myopic concern from the Broads Society. By that date the sculpture was already in place and the account by the planning officers give an excellent of the statue: n terms of scale, the statue is tall, but its visual mass is relatively small, and the design is simple and elegant. The galvanised finish will dull down over time to become increasingly recessive and as from various angles it is either seen against a backdrop of trees, the sky or the boatshed the finish is considered appropriate. In terms of visual impact, as you travel downstream on the river the statue emerges as the river turns from a southerly to easterly direction and is seen against the large boatshed which has a ridge height of approximately 10 metres.
