There are six wooden stakes surrounding a broader, shorter trunk on top of which sits a roofed dwelling. The piece refers to the human history of the nature reserve and the extraction of chalk, flint, clay, timber and charcoal from the wood. The central house structure is inspired by the bodgers who once lived and worked in the Chilterns. The sculpture includes a wind-up listening post giving information about the sculpture. Other audio channels include stories and poems about the history, flora and fauna of the location. The work is sculpture two on the Talking Trail footpath within the Aston Rowant Nature Reserve. Duncan McAfee worked on the project as the sound engineer.
