Frances Tradescant (c.1628–after 1661) was the daughter of John Tradescant the Younger. She married Alexander Norman in 1644. She is portrayed with her brother and step-mother in another painting (see 'Hester Tradescant and her Stepchildren, John and Frances', British School). Like its pendant, this portrait has recently been attributed to Johan Priwitzer (active 1627–1647), but may be by an artist from the de Critz/de Neve circle.
