The artwork depicts a male and a female, who appear to emerge together from an open book to create a cloak effect. The piece is intended to describe the sense of movement, suggestive of the prow of the boat. This sculpture was the winner of the Maritime Sculpture Competition in 1988. The competition was sponsored by the City of Swansea and J. Sainsbury Plc. It is part of the development around the former South Docks and Half Tide Basin.
