A fleeing man and woman, naked, covered in a blanket. The woman is clutching a baby. The sculpture is mounted on a circular plinth which is also carved to show people fleeing and dying as debris falls from the sky. The autograph version of the subject is from 1868 and is well known to be by Giovanni Maria Benzoni, the presumed father of Giovanni Battista Benzoni.
