The statue stands on a plinth above a public water fountain. A robed woman carries an urn on one shoulder and is holding the hand of a little boy, who crouches to gather water in a little bowl. A commemorative plaque is on the eastern face of the plinth and a relief portrait of Shrubsole on the western side.
