A figure of a young female holding a representation of an eclipse. Swansea Observatory, and 'The Tower of the Ecliptic' was built by the council with match funding from a European Regional Development Grant. It was completed in 1993 and loaned to the Swansea Astronomical Society who opened it for educational visits and talks. The observatory closed in late 2009. Four 'theatrical' masks on long metal tubes adorn the exterior.
