Situated above the altar, the east window of St James's Piccadilly houses the only stained glass in the church. Designed by Christopher Webb, it was installed in 1954 during the church's post-war restoration; it was bombed in 1940. The window depicts scenes from Christ's life, including his birth and crucifixion, taking inspiration from the words of the Apostles Creed. The window is a modern recreation of the original Victorian version, depicting the same scenes but in a different style. Although the Victorians had added other stained-glass windows in the church, after the war these were replaced with clear Crown glass, returning them to their original state as envisioned by the church's architect Christopher Wren.
