This design for a cracker box top was printed from an original design by Alfred Munnings. The mermaid motif inspired by a late Victorian interest in fantastical creatures. Caley's made an array of pulling crackers: 'But what names the crackers were given! Caley’s Primrose Crackers… Double Violet… Long and Short… Classic… Seashore… Deep Sea. They were endless: all the better for trade.'
