The album also contains a sketch by Gilbert Spencer (1892–1979) of 'New Arrivals' (c.1918, Imperial War Museum, IWM ART 2266).

Inscription description

Wounded arriving on travoys at a dressing station at Smol in Macedonia. This is a copy of the picture you remember seeing me at work upon; the one I did for the Imp: War Museum. It looks rather crowded out in this small space. The mules can’t make it out at all: they look very puzzled.
