A model for, or after, the sculptor’s statue of Charles II on the Royal Exchange. The statue, which no longer exists, was commissioned in May 1685 by the Grocers’ Company and Quellin was paid £60 for the work. A terracotta bust, nearly identical with the head and shoulders of this statuette, is in the Victoria and Albert Museum. The king is wearing the robes of the Order of the Garter.
