A plain cenotaph on a three-stepped base. On each face is a wreath and cross in relief. Conflicts after 1945 are commemorated on a a separate rectangular block with gold lettering.

on cenotaph: WHEN YOU GO HOME TELL THEM OF US / AND SAY, "FOR YOUR TOMORROWS WE GAVE OUR TODAY" / "AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND IN THE / MORNING WE WILL REMEMBER THEM" / THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED TO PERPETUATE THE / MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS CITY, WHO / IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919 FOUGHT THE / GOOD FIGHT, DYING IN THE CAUSE OF HUMANITY / THAT HONOUR MIGHT LIVE / THEIR NAMES ARE INSCRIBED ON THE ROLL OF / HONOUR, WHICH IS DEPOSITED IN THE TOWN HALL / THE MONUMENT ALSO PERPETUATES THE / MEMORY OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THIS / CITY WHO DIED IN THE WORLD WAR OF / 1939 - 1945 / IN GLORY ETERNAL / THEY BEING DEAD YET THEY LIVE; on granite block: IN MEMORY OF THE SACRIFICE MADE BY MEN ANS WOMEN / OF THIS DISTRICT WHO DIED IN CONFLICTS / AROUND THE WORLD SINCE 1945 / THEIR NAMES ARE INSCRIBED ON THE ROLL OF HONOUR
