below the bronze figure on the plinth: 1914 – 1919; plaque below: 1939 – 1945 / AND / OTHER / CONFLICTS; rear of plinth, below a bronze wreath: THEIR NAMES / SHALL BE HAD / IN REMEMBRANCE; sides of plinth inscribed with names of the fallen; on the curved wall, on either side of the entrance to the memorial: 1939–1945; the names of the fallen from the Second World War surround the dates
