The Buddha, protected by a naga or serpent deity. The Buddha sits on three coils of the naga's body and is surrounded by seven naga heads. He sits in dhyāna mudrā, the gesture of meditation. The back of the naga has a roundel with a lotus flower in the centre of concentric bands.
