White wove paper with a lace-paper border. On the central panel are stencilled leaves in gouache and hand-drawn stems in red/brown ink, at the centre of which is a cut-paper, hand-coloured pink rose. Inserted into the centre of the rose is a cut-paper, lithographed and hand-coloured head and shoulders of a man wearing a bow neck tie. A title is written in black ink at lower centre: 'Birth of Love'. 'KERSHAW' is stamped at lower centre. The interior is blank. A clipping from a sale catalogue is affixed to the album leaf below: "588 Another Specimen, same period, similar border decoration, a moveable rose with lover's bust inside ... c.1820 ... 8s 6d'.". The clipping is from a catalogue of 1924 (No. 36) from the bookseller, R.S. Frampton who was based at "Walton House", 37 Fonthill Road, Finsbury Park, London, N4.
