A view of the construction of tunnel portico on the Birmingham Railway, from Primrose Hill, to designs by William Budden. As the first railway tunnel in London, it is a Grade II listed structure as 'it was the first nationally to negotiate the issue of competing claims for the use of land in an urban context; and the first tunnel to treat one of its portals architecturally' (list entry 1329904).
