An elevation of an Engine for raising coal and ore. Invented by Thomas Hunt. [c1790?]. Print: engraving, formerly folio bookplate, platemark 41.5x69cm, overall sheet 50x75cm. Horse drawn beam operates whin which turns pulley system down shaft of mine. With elevation to 'bottom of ye pit'. Explanation, in cartouche panel, some detail worn in plate around decoration, possible erasures; inscribed to proprietors of collieries in environs of Newcastle upon Tyne.
