A composition by Henry Stacy Marks, representing the apothecary in Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet', exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts in 1876. The shelf and table contain flasks, a mortar, funnels, and botanical drawings. The arm of a skeleton (Death?) reaches down from the top right corner, curling around a portrait of a young woman.
