Thought at one time to have been drawn by William Blake. Geoffrey Keynes expressed doubt of this attribution (1961). In 1991 the Blake scholars Martin Butlin and David Bindman examined the drawing and stated that it was not by Blake. On watermarked paper thought to be that of John Gater, used 1790–1800.
