John Kingsley Cook
1911–1994
Painter, muralist, wood engraver and teacher, born in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire. He studied at Royal Academy Schools under Thomas Monnington and Walter Westley Russell, gaining the Gold Medal and Travelling Scholarship; then at Central School of Arts and Crafts, for wood engraving under Noel Rooke.
