The artist studied at Bath Academy of Art and the University of London and was later an Art Master at Acton County School. He exhibited work at the Royal Academy, Victoria and Albert Museum and Whitechapel Art Gallery. The view, westward and towards the artist's home, was part of the artist's commute as Art Master at Acton County School, where he worked from 1950 to 1970.
