Trevor Bell studied at Leeds College of Art and moved to Cornwall in 1955. He returned to Leeds as Gregory Fellow in painting from 1960–1963. Bell’s persistent questioning of painting has led him into a wide range of experimentation, adding to the modernist canon and the consideration of the painting as object.
