A scene from Italian opera depicting a hall with grand staircase with balconies and the orchestra in upper tiers. The arms in the painting are those of Spain and Portugal, for Ferdinand VI and his wife, Barbara of Portugal.

In this painting, the final scene of the last act is represented, which in the libretto is described as a richly adorned and illuminated celebration at night to mark the arrival of a new king. The six protagonists at centre stage are the men Amasi, Amenosi, Sammete and Babaste and the women Beroe and Nitetti; they are surrounded Egyptian and Ethiopian nobles, fighters and royal guards and the representatives of many other nations. The composer was Nicola Conforto, and the opera premiered in Madrid in 1756.
