Minimalist artist and teacher, born and lived in London. He attended Berkshire College of Art, 1970–3, Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, 1973–6, and Chelsea School of Art, 1977–8. He was junior fellow in fine art at South Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education, Cardiff, 1978–9. He taught at Reading University, Berkshire College of Art and Design, Wimbledon, Portsmouth, Brighton, the Architectural Association, the Slade School of Fine Art, Chelsea and Statens Kunstakademi, Oslo, Norway. Among Woodley’s exhibitions were Amano Gallery, Osaka, Japan, 1981; Galerie Niggendijker, Netherlands, 1988; Mathematics and Modern Art, at Nene College, Northampton, 1990, and in the same year Between Dimensions at Curwen Gallery. Also in 1990 Woodley was Anish Kapoor’s choice as Artist of the Day at Flowers East.
