Painter in oil and watercolour, line artist and etcher with special interest in marine subjects. Born at Twickenham, Middlesex, studied art at Southend School of Art, Slade School of Fine Art under Randolph Schwabe and at Hornsey School of Art. Wrote several books on sea and shipping subjects. Exhibited RA, NEAC, RWS and in the provinces. The National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, holds his work. Lived in London.
