Painter and muralist whose richly coloured work had a strong decorative element. After studying at Lomond School, Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire, Withers graduated from Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, with a fine art, painting, honours degree, 1986–90. In 1992, she had a three-month working trip to studios in Spain. Withers was a prize winner at the RSA Students’ Exhibition, Edinburgh, 1989, and at Kubla Khan show, Art Exposure Gallery, Glasgow, 1996. In 1993, she was elected a member of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists. Her commissions included a mural for Whithorn Excavation Centre, Wigtownshire, 1992, and paintings for Lomond School, Helensburgh, and murals for Club India, Glasgow, both 1994. Wither took part in many group exhibitions, including The Caledonian Show III, Contemporary Fine Art Gallery, Eton, 2001.
