Sculptor, painter and draughtsman, born and lived in London, married for a time to the painter Michael Fussell. She was educated at Summerhill School, St Martin’s School of Art, 1944–7, and Royal College of Art, 1947–50. She gained a first-class diploma there and the E Q Henriques Prize for Drawing. Williams showed widely in group exhibitions, winning a first prize for sculpture in John Moores Liverpool Exhibition, 1961. Other venues included Camden Arts Centre, 1972; ICA, Women’s Images of Men, 1980; Tolly Cobbold 5th National Touring Exhibition, 1985; Gimpel Fils, 1987; and Victoria Art Gallery, Bath, 1992. After showing solo at Woodstock Gallery in 1958 Williams was a regular exhibitor. She had a retrospective at Whitechapel Art Gallery in 1972.
