Painter, born in Colchester, Essex, where he studied at the School of Art, 1969–71, then at St Martin’s School of Art, 1971–4, and Royal College of Art, 1974–7. Group exhibitions included Simulacra, Riverside Studios, 1982, later ones Ace!, the Arts Council tour, 1996, and John Moores Liverpool Exhibition, from 1997–8. He had a first solo exhibition at Cash/Newhouse Gallery, in New York, 1985, later ones including Anthony Reynolds Gallery from 1989, and Harry Zellweger, Basle, 1995.
