Painter in watercolour, which he specially favoured, oil and acrylic, born in Leicestershire where he settled at Kirby Bellars. A self-taught artist, he went professional in 1969, painting landscape, architecture, interiors, transport and industrial subjects. Had a series of solo shows, including British Transport Museum, Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle, Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh, National Railway and Motor Museums and Barbican Centre. Among his most notable pictures were a number of extensive series: Rolls-Royce Fantasia and Histories of the British Steam Locomotive and Motor Car (each 25 canvases) and a History of the English Country House (40 canvases). Anglia Television and Independent Television produced documentaries on Weston.
