Painter, draughtsman and teacher with a special interest in art and its relationship with the land and agriculture. He was born in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, and was untrained. Weld started painting during reading for an English degree at university, after which he combined painting with teaching in many settings, except for several periods of about a year painting full-time. Group shows included Abbot Hall, Kendal; Bridport Art Centre, Dorset; Axminster Festival, Devon; and Yorkshire Moors Festival. Solo shows included St Catherine’s College, Oxford; York University; King’s Arms Yard, Dorchester, and at the Museum there; and 5 Dryden Street. Lived in North Eggardon, Powerstock, Bridport, Dorset.
