Painter and teacher, born in Munich, Germany. She was educated at North London Collegiate School, attending St Martin’s School of Art, 1940–3, where teachers included Vivian Pitchforth and Muriel Pemberton. Went on to teach at Hammersmith School of Arts and Crafts, 1945–8, and St Martin’s, 1945–87. Showed with RA, Leicester and Trafford Galleries, in the provinces and abroad. Her husband, the noted metallurgist and engineer Rudolf Strauss, died in 2001. Lived in London.
