Artist in a range of media, born Mark Weiner in Lomza, Russia, his parents settling in London’s East End in 1893. Won a scholarship to Birkbeck College, then attended for half of the third term only at 1909–10 session at Slade School of Fine Art. Began exhibiting in London and in 1932 published Celebrities in Caricature with a small publishing house. Lived for some years in Sheffield, Yorkshire, being an associate member of Sheffield Society of Artists, 1950–60. Died in Saffron Walden, Essex. Ben Uri Art Society holds several examples.
