Gestural abstract painter in whose work subtle colour harmonies and sensual textures were important. She was born in Yorkshire and gained a fine art painting honours degree from Exeter College of Art and Design, 1982. She was at Spacex Studios, Exeter, 1982–6, moving to Edinburgh in 1988. From 1988–90 she was a member of the collective Gallery there; was painter-in-residence, Grizedale, Cumbria, for the first half of 1993; then in 1994–6 managed the Kingfisher Gallery, Edinburgh (having been part-time, 1991–4). Exhibitions included Abstract into Reality, Exeter University, 1983; Visitors 85, Penwith Gallery, St Ives, 1985; Woman 2000, Gatehouse Gallery, Glasgow, 1990; and Scottish Contemporary Painters and Printmakers, Beatrice Royal Gallery, Eastleigh, 1997.
