William Turner (1877–1969)
Test Valley Borough CouncilPainter, notably of portraits, born in Andover, Hampshire. Studied at Southampton School of Art, 1895, and Andover School of Art, 1900. Showed at RA, UA of which he was a member, RBA and elsewhere, including Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, 1954–60. Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum, Bournemouth, holds his work, which was sometimes signed W T in monogram form. Lived in Liskeard, Cornwall.
