Painter and draughtsman, born in St Albans, Hertfordshire, married to the Reverend Canon Rupert Newman. She also showed under her maiden name, Beryl Trist. She studied with Rowland Wheelwright at Herkomer School, Bushey, then at Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art. Exhibited extensively at Goupil, Little Burlington and Kensington Galleries in solo exhibitions, also in mixed shows at RA, RP, RBA and elsewhere and was a member of UA. Lived for many years at Lustleigh, Newton Abbot, Devon, going into a retirement home in Moretonhamstead for her final year, dying in Moreton Hospital.
