Painter, sculptor, draughtsman and teacher, born in Boston, Lincolnshire. The Fenland landscape long held an attraction for him. Trigg studied carpentry and furniture-making at Rycotewood College, Thame, 1959–60, then gained his national diploma in furniture at High Wycombe College of Art and Design, 1960–4. During 1965–6 Trigg worked on prefabricated housing in Finland, Lapland and Russia; he was to continue travelling widely through his career. After working for London architects, 1966–9, from 1969–71 Trigg lived in Amsterdam and began painting. His wide teaching experience was to encompass Buckinghamshire College of Art and Design, 1971–7; Her Majesty’s Prison, Oxford, 1978–92; Berkshire College of Art and Design from 1988; Museum of Modern Art, Oxford, 1989–92; and Thames Valley University, 1993–4.
